Temple of Poseidon, Greece

The Temple of Poseidon at Sounion in Greece is surrounded by three sides of sea water. One of Santa’s favorite treats during the holidays is flying by these ancient ruins, that is how our video elf Whitney knew he would be flying by here. He took a snapshot of Mr. Christmas himself for all to enjoy.

Constructed around 440 B.C. there is only some columns of the Temple of Poseidon standing today. Lord Byron carved his name in the marble of one of the columns in 1810. He set a bad example, as the temple is now covered in scrawled signatures and initials.
