Even though Santa prefers to spend most of his time up north where it is cold. It doesn’t mean that he doesn’t make his way to sunny California sometimes. In fact, Santa loves getting a break from the cold weather and down to warm and sunny California. This is why the I Spot Santa team decided to set up camp in San Francisco, California. To see if we could catch Santa flying in the sky.

Even though they don’t get snow on Christmas in San Francisco, it doesn’t mean that this city isn’t full of festive spirit. Our team went out on the town in this California city to see how much Christmas magic they could capture. And boy did they find some! Our field reporter Kent Cook took us around San Francisco in hopes to catch Santa.

Capturing Santa Flying in the Sky

The first stop the North Pole Newsroom made was the San Francisco Zoo. Here they visited all types of creatures from all around the world. They even saw a polar bear just like they have up in the North Pole! We bet Santa was happy to see these polar bears and the rest of the animals at the zoo. They decorate the park in lights, they really get wild with Christmas spirit here!

Another place we searched for Santa was at Union Square, right in the middle of San Francisco. There was so much Christmas magic everywhere, we almost forgot we were supposed to be looking for Santa! This area was filled with Christmas spirit and lots of trees, lights, decorations and holiday cheer. There was even an ice skating rink and an impressive 80 foot tall Christmas tree!

Then, we went to the Dickens Christmas Fair in the Cow Palace. We for sure thought we would find Santa flying in the sky here. In fact, for a moment, Kent Cook thought we were back in the North Pole! There were plays, music, carolers and all types of Christmas shopping as everyone was getting ready for their Christmas Eve fun!

Santa Captured on Video

The good news is… we Finally spotted Santa! Yes, we saw Santa and he reindeer glide through San Francisco. We heard the deer needed to stop for some water because they weren’t used to the California heat! Our inside reporters revealed that Santa was leaving one good little boy’s house and headed to drop presents off at another good little girl’s house. Check out the video above to see him in action!

We are still standing by to see if we can get any more photos or videos of Santa. Not only in sunny San Francisco but all over the world!
